Document Reviews
Document Reviews
When Claras generates a section of your document, it also generates a review — a quick assessment of how closely the output follows your materials, and where it had to fill in gaps.
Reviews help you focus your attention. Instead of reading every section with equal scrutiny, you can spend more time on the sections that need it.
How it works
After each section is generated, you'll see a review appear below the content. It includes:
- A review level — light, standard, or careful
- An explanation — a short summary of what came from your materials and what Claras inferred or assumed
A coloured icon also appears in the section header, so you can see the review level at a glance — even when the section is collapsed.
Review levels
Light (green ✓)
The section closely follows your materials and instructions. No significant assumptions were made.
What to do: A quick read-through should be enough.
Standard (blue ℹ)
Some interpretation was needed. Claras filled minor gaps with reasonable assumptions.
What to do: Check that the assumptions align with your intent.
Careful (red ⚠ — pulsing)
Significant gaps in your materials or instructions required Claras to make strategic choices. The icon pulses to draw your attention.
What to do: Verify the key conclusions and strategic choices match your expectations.
Resolving reviews
Once you've checked a section, mark it as reviewed:
- Click the ✓ button below the review, or open the section dropdown (⋮) and select Resolve review.
- Your name and avatar are recorded as the reviewer — creating a clear audit trail of who checked what.
- Once resolved, the review label updates (e.g. "Careful review conducted") and the icon disappears from the collapsed header.
You can unresolve a review at any time from the section dropdown if you need to revisit it.
Note: Reviews reset automatically when you regenerate a section. The new content gets a fresh review.
Which documents have reviews?
All of them. Reviews appear on every document template in Claras, including:
- Statement of Advice (SoA)
- Record of Advice (RoA)
- Fact Find
- Paraplanner Request
- Strategy Paper
- Implementation Guide
- Minimal Statement of Advice
Custom templates you've created will also receive reviews.
Tips
- Use the collapsed icons to triage. Before reading anything, scan the section headers. Green means you can move quickly. A pulsing red icon means that section needs your full attention.
- Resolve as you go. Marking sections reviewed keeps you oriented in longer documents and shows your team which sections have been checked.
- Read the explanation. It tells you specifically what was sourced from your materials versus what Claras generated. This is where you'll find what to double-check.
- Finalised documents lock reviews. Once a document is finalised, reviews can no longer be resolved or unresolved.
FAQ
Why did I get a "careful" review?
This usually means Claras didn't have enough material to fully support that section. You can improve future reviews by uploading more reference material or adding detailed instructions before generating.
Can I turn off reviews?
No — reviews are built into the document generation process. They're designed to make your review faster, not slower.
Do reviews appear in the exported DOCX?
No. Reviews are part of the in-app editing experience only. Your exported document contains just the final content.
Who can see who resolved a review?
Anyone with access to the document can see the resolver's name and avatar. This creates accountability and makes it easy to see which sections have been human-reviewed.
